Overview
A. CONFIGURING ABSTRACTIVE HEALTH FOR EHR LAUNCH
1. Log in to AdvancedMD with your admin account credentials.

2. As an Admin user in AdvancedMD, you can manually add a SMART on FHIR app by going to the Web Links activity in Admin > System Setup > Web Links.

3. In the Web Links activity, you would create a New link.

4. Add the following settings to enable the Abstractive Health app in AdvancedMD:

URL: https://app.abstractive.ai/launch
Check: Add to SMART App Launch Tool

B. LAUNCHING ABSTRACTIVE HEALTH FROM A PATIENT CHART
5. When you open a patient chart, you need to make sure you have collected patient consent to launch Abstractive Health (this is a requirement of AdvancedMD workflows)
To enable consent, click the Patient Consent activity in the Patient demographics section in the patient chart.

Once in the Patient Consent activity, you need to confirm the patient has consented to Share Data externally.

And also consents to share data with HIEs.

6. Within this patient’s chart, you can now launch Abstractive Health from the Launch SMART app activity.
Click the globe icon on the patient chart navigator.

And then launch “Abstractive Health”.

7. You will need to authorize Abstractive Health to pull medical information of patient records for summarization from AdvancedMD.

8. You will need to sign in again to AdvancedMD to confirm the authorization.

9. Your first time accessing Abstractive Health, you will either need to log in or create a new account with a 15-day free trial. Your AdvancedMD account login will be linked to Abstractive Health, so you will not need to log in again in the future.

10. Once you log in or create your account, the app will begin summarizing the notes and a summary will be available for your review.
